Board of Directors

The Board has the executive control and management of the affairs of the National Trust and is responsible for its administration.

The Board comprises six directors. The Minister of Conservation appoints four of them after nominations have been called from the public, having due regard to environmental and conservation values, the interests of rural landowners and the interests of the Maori community. QEII National Trust members elect the other two directors. The current Board comprises:

Appointed by the Minister of Conservation (varying terms):

  • Chairperson, James Guild, Canterbury - term expires 30 June 2017
  • Sue Yerex, Turangi - term expires 30 June 2018
  • Bruce Wills - Hawke's Bay - term expires 20 November 2017
  • Gina Solomon - Peketa, Kaikoura - term expires 30 June 2018

Elected for a three-year term by members:

  • Donna Field, Rakaia Gorge, Canterbury - term commenced 11 March 2016
  • Michael Legge, Westport, West Coast - term commenced 11 March 2016

Next member elections will be held in 2019.
